My dear, you do love those third rail topics don't you? (that comes with a wink)

I have my faith and you're going to laugh at this but as a Catholic and for most of the Catholics I know, the Old Testament is read and studied but it is the New Testament, the new covenant with God that I tend to refer to when I feel troubled or need a bit of wisdom in my life. I think of God from the Old Testament as being very angry with man and after the sacrifice of Christ for our sins, we are reconciled with God and there is a new covenant with us.

I have had a complicated sense of what I think of the answers I've gotten for prayers. Painful as it was, I realize that it all brought me to here and here is okay. I'm a better person now than I might have been if everything I wished and hoped and prayed for had been delivered to me just as I wanted.

Anyway, that's my more than two cents' worth.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14721780347274988492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842684642117669334.post-64280157090853058452009-05-21T21:21:37.822-07:002009-05-21T21:21:37.822-07:00I love that verse!!! Her husband is a preacher and they have served God the whole time they have been married!!! We all prayed for them while they were hurting for a child. Mother Days were very painful for her during those years! I will pray with you both that God will touch your body and bless you both with a child!!! It isn't easy to go through these valleys!!! Thank you for sharing your story!
Praying with you,
RachelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842684642117669334.post-52961822966246548652009-05-21T20:43:31.647-07:002009-05-21T20:43:31.647-07:00Kathryn, for the record, It's jolting to see in my...Kathryn, for the record, It's jolting to see in my email "Kathryn has left you a comment on "Expectant Hearts". But in a GOOD way! Thanks for commenting.

I love the apron in the below post..

I agree with Johanna that many of the promises God made to the Israelites CAN be claimed by us... Also, I think it helps me to remember that God doesn't have the restraints of time so when He seems to have turned against a people,I think it's because He already knows those people will reject Him anyway..

I really enjoyed this post and look forward to reading more! Oh, I also wanted to say that I thought your friends comment was very interesting "organized religion has misinterpreted/mistranslated the Bible so the Bible can not be trusted". Huh? How about if we don't trust the PEOPLE who mistranslated it?Kathryn @ Expectant Heartshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08629955139973507828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842684642117669334.post-1058051488923778652009-05-21T16:20:33.063-07:002009-05-21T16:20:33.063-07:00I'm hoping you get your BFP this month or sometime...I'm hoping you get your BFP this month or sometime very soon!

I like:

http://www.equip.org/site/about_hank_hanegraaff

for answers to biblical questions. He's also got a radio show on KRLA 99.5 here in So Cal.

I think God's promises, like the one in Jeremiah, transcend the time in which they were recorded. I do believe we can claim those promises today in our present sets of circumstances.

Just keep seeking Him. He will reveal Himself to you, and He may give you a revelation that gives meaning to some of those questionable aspects of the Bible. God is not offended by our questions.

:-)Joannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12268912691024764398noreply@blogger.com
