I don't do memes a lot. I've been enjoying Jess' Blog Smog for some time now. She's doing this meme, & i thought i'd join in. One thing she said in this meme that spoke to me was in three things that i miss, when she said,
The house I grew up in and maybe just plain being young.
Yeah. Me, too, although she is young compared to me, most definitely.
Confession - i've not been keeping up with responding to comments, & so i apologize. I love having people respond to my *brilliant* (roll of the eyes) thoughts & just so appreciate that folks show up here to read them. Thank you. I do my best, but sometimes it just isn't quite there.

Well...I don't do memes. I mean, it's not like I took a sacred vow or anything, but I don't do them as a general rule. It is fun to read answers and all that but you know, I've been on the internet for sixteen years and by about year three, I'd encountered every form of questionnaire in the known world.
But it was fun to read your answers. I'll be over here abstaining from Memes some more. It's partially that I'm just too wordy to do them.
If I started telling people three places I'd been this week, I'd feel this great need to launch into the story of that woman with the red nose, and the pink socks who asked me shrubbery care and how, for no reason I can name I stood there for twenty minutes trying to suss out things about bushes with her...and that was just on my way to get the mail.
It's that trait of mine that keeps me from doing Memes more than anything. I am a person held together by tangents and segues, they're like kryptonite to Memes.
As I'm sure you can tell because look how long it took me to give an answer to the question of why I don't do memes...that you didn't even pose!

I, too, tend to be lengthy & i tend to annotate over-much.
Occasionally doing "memes" helps me to be a bit more concise. I always WANT to be concise, but i usually tend to lose that in explanations.
Doing "memes" feels weird for me, too, 'cause, well, it's all about me! But then, what is my blog, if it is not all about me?
