My favorite folks ! :)

Just for laughs

I'm still coughing.  Sleeping with my head elevated because i can't manage lying flat.  I think it will be a while before i heal, but that isn't surprising because my lungs are my weak spot and have been for years.  I was making myself take some truly awful herbals (in a tincture) but they didn't seem to do much.  So i've begun simply taking 1/2 teaspoon of Manuka honey as i begin to cough.  It seems to have done wonders.  Plus it tastes so much better than the herbals.   :)

I was looking at some different knit patterns, and happened across this website:  You Knit What??  I have to say, the posts there use much more, um, colorful language at times than i ever do, but the whole thing is pretty funny.  It is defunct now, and what is visible is only archives.  Still.  Here are some examples of what they review.

Ok, i've got to admit that i thought most of these pretty funny.  However, this last one simply made me laugh out loud:

What is this???  What was the creator thinking?

Hope y'all are having a great weekend for 10.10.10  :)   I'm doing fine.  I'm healing.  And i'm staying home this week!

Try some ginger and honey for your cough. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Those were some funny pictures. I particularly like the first one which would make one look as if one was wearing a chicken on the head.

The last one might be helpful with your cold. Getwell soon.

Sorry to hear you are sick Kathryn... have you tried Echinacea tea? It tastes pretty good and I add honey. I always try to catch my illnesses early with some form of Echinacea.
Those knitting patterns are hilarious..I did laugh out loud at the last one too! I guess that's why I stick mostly to scarves, it's hard to mess up too badly.
And by the way, that Junco photo on my recent post is not mine.. I am horrible at animal photos - don't have a good zoom lens. WP has a new app which will add a related photo for you.
Rest up and get well soon!

Hi Betty! Thanks for coming by. Yeah, i think all the patterns that site makes fun of are commercially produced ones. I'd be surprised if folks made any of the ones designed, but they may have. Her comments are pretty funny too, tho she uses more profanity than i think necessary.

Amrita, i love your new profile pic. :) You are funny. You like goofy knits? Did your mama ever make the funny knits when she used to do that, or did she stick to more traditional patterns? If you get a funny knit, you'll have to post a pic of you in it.

Mister Squirrel - who would be unkind enough to their kid to make them wear a hat that the other kids are bound to call them "Chicken-head"?

Thanks for the well wishes. :)

NENR - hi. :) I've not done much with Echinacea. I think the times i tried it in the past i didn't have much response. I don't know if that was because it was before i was doing much in the way of natural stuff & didn't use it properly or if it is because i don't respond to it as well. Some of my favorite pet remedies don't seem to work well for other folks. We're all different, i guess.

I've not gotten too ambitious in my knitting either, blankets, hats, scarves. I have made a few sweaters, not always with good results. :/

Duane has a pretty good camera, & we've gotten a few good pics of some of the birds. Juncos & flickers are a challenge.

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm doing better, thanks.
